Serving Individuals age 17+

Life can be chaotic, overwhelming, confusing or unsatisfying at different times of our lives. When all we may see is a storm and having to fight and do battle we may miss the bigger picture. Therapy can help you learn to see and experience life differently. It can give us tools and knowledge to help you use the energy in the storm to create happiness and success.

As an experienced licensed counselor, I have helped many individuals work through their anxiety, life transitions, work/private life balance, grief, and burnout,and/or compassion fatigue. Together we identify what changes they want and need and make those changes to feel successful and in control of their lives.

With recent events in our community and country as a whole, it is not unusual for you to be feeling uncertainty and fear if you are safe and able to maintain your usual daily life. Please reach out to me so we can develop a way for you to maintain your independence and control over your life.

Why Therapy?

Sometimes we can feel so stressed, that we are just “reacting”, moving from one crisis or stressor to another. There is no time to step back and figure out what we want or what is needed, we have to keep putting out fires or putting band aids on problems.

Therapy is being able to step back for a moment. To sit with a trained experienced person who can help you see the forest.

Why Therapy: excerpts from clients

  • I can say what I want and need and I am not judged or criticized.

  • I can be sad, or scared or anxious and noone will say “get over it”

  • I can “not have all the answers” and its ok cause we work together on finding them.

  • I can learn strategies so I can make better decisions, manage my emotions and have healthier relationships

  • It is the one thing I do for me that validates I am important and worth it.

What Next?

Therapy is a commitment…

A commitment of time. Look at your schedule and your responsibilities. Is there a time each week that I can devote to a 50 minute therapy session? Am I able to put myself first for that time period, to work with a therapist and to make lasting changes in my life?

A commitment of affording therapy. Will I be using insurance benefits? Can I afford the cost of a copay, deductible or full or reduced fee if I am not covered by insurance?

A commitment to knowledge and change. Am I willing to be honest about what is going on? Am I ready to look at my options, learn skills to take ownership in my success and accept what I am not ready to change?

If your answer is yes, or you need to sit with someone to figure it all out, I can help…
